Generic Component Placement

Placement of Generic Components usually consists of the following common steps:
  1. Set the size and spec in the Standard Preferences dialog.
  2. Select an option from the Generic Components gallery.
Note: If there is more than one record in the specification that meets the criteria, you are prompted to select a specific record from the Spec Record Selection dialog.
  3. Define the Placement Point (Main Port, Run Port etc.) and component settings in the Place Component dialog. When placing a Generic component, the Design Values section in the dialog allow you to define the parameters of the component as shown below for the Generic Branch. While the Nominal Diameter is defined in the Standard Preferences dialog, the other geometrical parameters can be defined here on a per incident basis.
  4. Once you have defined the settings for the generic component, use the mouse to pick placement, direction and rotation points.
Note: If connecting to an existing component, then only placement and rotation picks are required.
Note: A Generic Branch is not an inline component and therefore cannot be inserted into an existing length of pipe.
